This past weekend I, along with my mom, sister, and two friends took a trip up to VA to my Aunt and Uncle's house for Labor Day and for the annual Flea Market! This has become a yearly tradition for us so we were quite excited! This year two of my sisters couldn't come and we missed them a ton. *sob* On a lighter note, we did find several really great deals and had a ton of fun helping out our folks park cars in their back yard as well as doing a good amount of cooking! Every year we cook an overwhelming amount of food and most of it is deserts. This year was no different. Blueberry Cheesecake --I apologize for the quality of the pictures. I took all the pictures from my week with my iPod so they aren't the best quality. Brownies (my personal favorite) :D Raspberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice cream! Peanut Butter Pie with a chocolate crust and chocolate syrup and Reese's cups! We also made a Chocolate Cherry cake (which I failed to get a picture of) and two other peanut butter pies that just had a plain gram cracker crust. Every year at the flea market there is a mennonite group that makes the BIGGEST doughnuts you have ever seen. The friends that came with us had never been to a flea market before and I do believe that they were a little shocked at how huge it was, but like I said earlier, we found a good many deals. The biggest being a box of 110 t-shirts for $5:00. You may ask "What in the world are you going to do with 110 t-shirts?" well my friends and I are going to cut them up and make different things out of them! *Pictures to come later* Five of the highlights of the trip were: 1. Getting to play a handmade violin. The wood is 200 years old and was made by the man holding the instrument. It needed new strings but the tone was amazing! The detail was incredible! 2. I got to meet and pet my dream dog! I've always loved St. Bernards and this lady was walking down the street with this sweetheart named Dasie. I stopped the lady and asked if I could pet the dog and she said yes. Let me tell you this dog is the softest dog ever. 3. I got to check off another thing on my bucket list! Eating a foot-long hotdog! LOL! It was so yummy! 4. I got to shoot a 4/10 shot gun and a 22 rifle for the first time! After three tries I hit the bullseye! I'm so going hunting sometime soon! 5. My aunt has a plant called "Christ In The Manger" It is the ugliest plant you will ever see, but it has a gorgeous flower that only blooms once a year at night. Her plant normally blooms sometime in August but for some reason it hadn't bloomed yet and the night before we left to come back home it bloomed! The pictures don't do it justice at all, but here are a few! Here is one before it opened. God's creation is so awesome! It is amazing to think that when God created the earth he was just playing around. I mean think about it. He created the earth in seven days and all he did was speak it into existence. Think about what Heaven will be like for those who have trusted Christ as their Savior. He said "I got to prepare a place for you" He is currently preparing a place for us and taking a lot more time to do it. Wow that is mind blowing!
Well I hope you got a little taste of what my trip was like! I left out a lot simply because this post would be really really really REALLY long if I kept going. but I'll probably post pictures of random stuff we found at the flea market later!

About Me
Hi! My name is Bethany. I'm so glad you've stopped in at my little corner of the internet! By way of introduction, I am a wife, musician, teacher, coffee lover, baker, nature lover, writer, and most importantly, I am a follower of Jesus. I'm super thankful that the Lord has given me this little outlet to share some of the things He has taught me, things that have inspired me, changed me or just gotten me excited about living life. My prayer is that what you read and see here will be an encouragement to your heart, bring you joy, and maybe even inspire you! Archives
